چکیده
Some synthetic fungicides have been currently prohibited due to their adverse effects; thus, searching for alternatives decrease application is a priority worldwide. An alternative the of chitosan -a natural biopolymer- because its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and bioactivity. Chitosan has used in different industries, such as cosmetology, pharmaceutics, food, among others. In agriculture, it resistance inductor bio-fungicide antimicrobial activity plant development growth promoter. Although many works published on characteristics mode action, direct effects agriculture -both fruit phytopathogens- not reported. Therefore, objective this review summarize recent advances achievements with special attention properties defence induction mechanisms.

Study of Antifungal Synergism Effects of Chitosan with Thymol, Carvacrol and Isothiocyanate against Candida albicans
Background and Aim: Prevalence of drug resistance in Candida albicans hinders common treatments with conventional antifungal drugs. A stockpile of research is being done to discover novel antifungal drugs. Chitosan has emerged as a promising antimicrobial and biodegradable polymer with various medical applications. The significant antimicrobial potential of some of the secondary metabolites fro...
متن کاملConductivity and electrical properties of corn starch–chitosan blend biopolymer electrolyte incorporated with ammonium iodide
This work focuses on the characteristics of polymer blend electrolytes based on corn starch and chitosan doped with ammonium iodide (NH4I). The electrolytes were prepared using the solution cast method. A polymer blend comprising 80wt% starch and 20wt% chitosan was found to be the most amorphous blend and suitable to serve as the polymer host. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis pr...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Drugs in Fighting against Antimicrobial Resistance
The outbreak of antimicrobial resistance, together with the lack of newly developed antimicrobial drugs, represents an alarming signal for both human and animal healthcare worldwide. Selection of rational dosage regimens for traditional antimicrobial drugs based on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic principles as well as development of novel antimicrobials targeting new bacterial targets or resist...
متن کاملResistance to phytopathogens e tutti quanti: placing plant quantitative disease resistance on the map.
Plant disease resistance can be seen as a process of a dual nature: both qualitative and quantitative. The nature of non-self molecules perceived by plants has led to the depiction of plant immunity as a two-layer defence system. The first layer is mediated by cell surface and intracellular pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) which perceive conserved microbial elicitors, termed pathogenassociat...
متن کاملComplex microstructured 3D surfaces using chitosan biopolymer.
A technique for producing micrometer-scale structures over large, nonplanar chitosan surfaces is described. The technique makes use of the rheological characteristics (deformability) of the chitosan to create freestanding, three-dimensional scaffolds with controlled shapes, incorporating defined microtopography. The results of an investigation into the technical limits of molding different comb...
